Reece has passed the 1,000 Points Milestone!
He's done it in style too, as he's managed to return over 4,000 points since joining yesterday! Let's hope this strong start continues, as it's certainly helping our 3rd Birthday Team Foldathon cause! Well done mate ;)
Now as a matter of formality, i'm going to leave his 2,000 Points Milestone pass to it's own post, but let it be known, he's nearly chalked up the first 3 Points Milestones in his 2nd day, narrowly missing out on the 5,000.
Now on a total score of 4,979 from 16 work units, he sits 34th on the Team and 375,631st out of 1,307,720 all-time folders. Well done champ ;)

New Team Member - Reece
Welcome our latest New Team Member - Reece!
A mate I went to School with, Reece has picked a good time to join Aussie Rules Footy, because we've just started our 3rd Birthday Team Foldathon. Reece has previously folded for another Australian Folding@Home Team - OCAU (Overclockers Australia).
He's already returned 3 work units for 786 points and sits 57th on the Team and ranks 730,116th out of 1,307,299 all-time folders. Good job mate ;)

November 2009 = 3rd Team Birthday Foldathon!
UPDATE (4:11 AM, Wednesday, November 4, 2009): I've updated the countdown clock section of the blog's sidebar (right up the top) and have included information about who is currently leading and also further down, previous winners. The section will be updated daily when possible and will be based on comparing my daily Team Stats recordings to those that appear down below. You can compare for yourself at anytime of the day by using this method ;) END OF UPDATE
This November marks 3 years since I started folding on my Family's computer under smASHer88 and created our Folding@Home team - Aussie Rules Footy. To celebrate the Team's 3rd Birthday, we're going to host a November-long Foldathon!
For those team members who don't know what a Foldathon is - It's where as many team members as possible, fold as much as they can within a set time period.
One of the main aims of the Foldathon is to push our team ranking position. Last year's results produced a 199 position bump! But starting at 594th position (as opposed to last year's 1,279th) means that the push for team ranking is so much harder because of the increased team competition within the top 1,000. I think though if we can put in a good team effort throughout this Foldathon, then we can advance our team ranking atleast 30 spots.
I'm also hoping Aussie Rules Footy will pickup a few new team members during the month as well. Please encourage your Family and Friends to join up ;) Of course your increased folding efforts during November will also be helping Folding@Home as well! lol
I've now edited the countdown clock that appears at the top of this blog's sidebar to show how much time is left until the end of our 3rd Team Birthday Foldathon.
The statistics below have been taken just earlier, and will be used in conjuction with figures from late on the 30th of November to decide our 3rd Team Birthday Foldathon winner! Now as like last year, if a team member has more than one name they fold under, then the sum of their names will be used (excluding typo'd names and default ('Anonymous' & 'PS3') names). I would love to be able to offer up a prize (or prizes!), but unfortunately until you guys start showing an interest in some of my advertising material lol, the team can't afford any. So the winner will have their name stamped in Aussie Rules Footy Team Birthday Foldathon history, with a list of previous winners to sit just below the countdown clock, year-round!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween!The day is almost over, and since Australia doesn't really get into this October 31st tradition as much as other Western countries, it was a pretty bland day. No Trick-or-treating with freaky costumes, no Jack-o'-lanterns and certainly none of this Apple bobbing crap. Celebrating Halloween isn't exactly this country's strong suit.
Anyway, as Halloween draws to a close, we are starting up our annual Team Birthday Foldathon! So make sure you keep this Pumpkin happy and fold as much as you can during this special event, even if you have to scale back post-Foldathon ;) I want to see some SCARY PPD figures! haha

Team Leaderboard Update - QCKRNU takes 7th spot
Continuing his assault on the Team Leaderboard, QCKRNU has taken 7th spot relentlessly, folding flat out in the last few days to his 10,000+ PPD potential, leaving retired PS3 folder Ravenge5 to slide down to 8th.
This is QCKRNU's 4th Team Leaderboard Update in just over a month, and he can attribute that to not only a relatively close points positioning amongst the lower placed Team Leaderboard members, but also to the addition of a dual-GPU graphics card to his computer a couple of months back. RoXeD would want to be worried! Haha very nice mate progress mate ;)

Points Milestone - Thooz_PS3 - 1k
Thooz_PS3 has now passed the 1,000 Points Milestone!
Joining the Team quite a while ago now, back in May, Thooz_PS3 hasn't really folded too often. The PPD of PS3s is 900~1,000, so you see there hasn't been too much protein action going on. The main thing is, he's got to his 1st Achievement now!
His current statistics are as follows: 1,000 points from 4 work units, sitting 679,874th out of 1,300,642 all-time folders and 52nd on the Team. Well done mate ;)

I haven't talked to him about it yet, but it looks as though SethTS_PS3 added his computer to the team as a New Team Member - SethTS!

Look out! QCKRNU now has a GPU folding!
QCKRNU is looking to push into Aussie Rules Footy's Top 10 and beyond with the addition of a folding capable GPU to his computer!
QCKRNU has had his new XFX 9800 GX2 NVIDIA graphics card for a while now, though it hasn't been able to be installed in his computer. The problem was his old power supply just wouldn't have been up to the task of delivering the necessary wattage his new GPU needed. Recently though, he got himself a new 1kw power supply, and today, installed the graphics card.
I went through the installation process with him, following the official GPU guide for Windows, and since he's using Windows 7, we just installed as per Vista instructions. Although the 9800 GX2 is a dual-GPU card, he's only got the one monitor for now, and therefore cannot fold on both GPUs. There is a possibility a dummy DVI plug or something might be able to let the 2nd GPU fold, but either way, you need to have the desktop extended for the
