Well, its been going to happen now for a while, but the
GPU client folders have finally got a Petaflop to claim their own. It took approximately 9,000 GPU folders to make the Petaflop, so no doubt even a doubling in GPU folder numbers will keep pushing the projects total higher and higher.
Total for the project now sits at 2.7 Petaflops, coming from ~ 327,000 'active' folders. Since last reporting on the
OS Stats a month ago, 17,000 extra active folders have come on board to crunch data in the name of Protein folding research. It'd be great to see half a million active participants by this time next year, but we'll take any amount of newcomers, as long as the project keeps building.
